A scary and restles night

a tyring day

21-02-2012
Up at 5.15 am it’s dark and raining . we’ll see what this day brings. Work went well, I actually did do work. At eleven o clock I was tired, took a shower and went home. I slept for three hours on the couch. This evening I had first aid classes re animation and AED training. I only looked how others did it, I don’t even have to try mouth to mouth as the air will go out sideways. Strange it might be, but my face got stiff and swollen and all sore again. Now at home I have a headache. Good night.

Hello

HI there

I have had Ramsay Hunt now for 4 and a half weeks. I was misdiagnosed with Bells Palsy, so was given the normal dose of anti virals and lots of steroids for a month. Swelling is gone in paralysed side of my face but still cant smile or blink, My eye causes me the most problems.

Im starting acupuncture and cranial therapy this week and seeing a neurologist fot the first time, as I was under ENT. Pretty scared but positive

Im trying to tape my eye as much as I can but also keep it open so my eye might try to blink.

An eventful day

Did not have a good sleep, was awake at 04.00 am. Had a chat with some Australian friends. Now we will see what the day brings. My face is stiff and a bit sore, it’s cold outside I have to dress warm for the funeral this afternoon. At 9 am the telephone rang. Eldest daughter is on her way with two grandchildren. The day has started.

a day of rest

19-2-2012
The last few days were not cold or windy, so I left my goggles at home and thought it just about time to do without them. This morning I went out with the dog early without goggles but it was cold and windy. I was about half way when the wind came full on to my face. Boy did my eye hurt, somehow it doesn’t blink well enough to keep the cold air off. I had to get home with the eye squeezed close. It has been a restful day. It’s evening now and bed time. Good night.

Renze's life after sixty and with Ramsay.

Well, here I am a sixty years old male specimen crooked face but luckily it looks like I am smiling all the time. This might be an advantage but try to tell off some grandchildren with en everlasting smile isn't easy. But there are more things I used to do easily what can be a mountain to move. It is written that if ones believe is strong enough he can move a mountain. I tell you something, it doesn't work for me. Take last week. In the weekend the toilet started to block I had good hope it would solve itself but it sure didn't. The tank or like in National Lampoon's Christmas Holiday.

Overall, things are still moving forward. Again, my eye seems the last to recover. I am 49 days into this, although it feels like much much longer.

Watched some utube blogs of someone with bells (although I'm always suspicious) and even a year and five months was pretty good but not a complete return. And some mild synthekinesis without having done acupuncture.

My own progress has slowed and am considering mild Acupuncture.....people say each week I look better. No sound issues now but occasional mild phn. Occasional tinnitus. Biggest nuisance is my eye as it does not seal well and gets sore. If I actually had eye lids would consider taping shut but there's nothing to tape.

New face pain

Today I started feeling pain in my affected side of my face. I am almost two weeks post eruption of shingles on my left leg. Now my face is aching a little. What are the chances that I 'll have a recurrent eruption of shingles on my face ,right side, after a new site eruption on the left?

Makes me sick to write the date, that more than a month has passed and I still feel swelling come and go inside my face/neck - wherever that nerve is. The eye that closes sometimes but is always needing maintenance. The mouth that has one part on the lower lip that is a hold out. Muscles now seem hypertonic (I think that's the right word). Left side overcompensating. Open mouth twisted.
