I went to my physician on Friday and he discharged me! He said I was vastly improved and that I needn't see him again for this. Of course we both know there are still improvements to be made. Monday, July 14th I saw the Opthomologist. He also noted a vast improvement. I can now close my eye almost completely and the dry spots seem to be just about gone. But, he still insists I keep the eye taped most of the time, and especially at night. (He knows I untape it to drive and for special social occasions.) He also told me to make my next appointment in a month instead of three weeks as I have been doing, which is another good sign. However, he did say that this condition can still go on for several more months. With steady improvement and with the encouragement from this site, I now know that there IS an end to this long long tunnel!
