Barbara's Diary - Week 3

Day 15 - Thursday 3rd April 2003

We went to the doctor and discussed RHS and the fact that there isn't much more he can do for me at this point. We all agreed that since electric shock therapy and other stronger drugs have not been proven effective, we ruled them out. So, according to him this has to be tolerated and waited out. He does insist I see the eye doctor about my eye.

Day 16 - Friday 4th April 2003

Day 17 - Saturday 5th April 2003

Day 18 - Sunday 6th April 2003

Day 19 - Monday 7th April 2003

Snow is predicted, so we called and got an earlier appt with the Ophthalmologist He said what I was doing was correct - keep the eye moist and taped shut for most of the day.

Day 20 - Tuesday 8th April 2003

I had a pretty normal day and was feeling well. But when I went to bed the pain in my ear started again, very strong and again in waves. It was like a stab of sharp pain, which then scattered and spread out all along my ear and head on the right side. I couldn't sleep and was so miserable I got up and began to write this diary. At 2AM when I could again take Tylenol, I did so and again tried to sleep, but I was awake most of the night. The vertigo is not helping at all

Day 21 - Wednesday 9th April 2003

I really wanted to go to lunch and theater with my friends today, but after I took my shower and was dressed and ready, the pain in my ear and my being so tired wore me down. I felt hot and sweaty, nauseous and miserable. Sandy was angry with me for giving in to this, but I felt I just couldn't face it. Got into sweats and spent the day in bed, trying to sleep, trying to fight the pain in my ear and in my head. This was my worst day ever!
