Day 22 - Thursday 10th April 2003 |
Vertigo is stronger today. Went to the doctor and he said I was doing as well as could be expected. Told him about the pain and not sleeping and he suggested Elavil for both. He called a neurologist while we were there and told him my whole story. There is really nothing more to do, they agreed, except maybe an MRI to be sure there's nothing else pressing on the nerve. We went to pick up my new Honda which I won't be able to drive until I'm over this, so I feel even more frustrated! Took my first Elavil and slept soundly until 5 when I had slight pain, and took two Tylenol. It's now 4:15 PM and I haven't had any pain medication all day. Still dizzy tho. |

Despite all the advice to cancel, we had our Reunion Brunch for 18 people, here in the house and though I was tired, I was very glad we went through with it. It was wonderful seeing everyone again. When anyone asks what I have, I just say Bell's Palsy, because Ramsey Hunt is too complicated to explain. The responses are always "Oh, yes, my aunt/mother/cousin/friend/etc/etc had that and they're fine now." |

Day 26 - Monday 14th April 2003 |
Today I could close my eye a bit more, and my brow seemed to have a few wrinkles when I tried to raise my eyebrow. To the eye doctor again - he said there were no more dry spots in my eye and that I'm doing the correct thing by keeping it moist and taped shut. That made me feel a bit better. |
