I am doing quite well although I do realize I am not the same person I was before all of this began last March. The main reason for that is the loss of balance that is still noticeable - but manageable nonetheless. The Bell's Palsy symptoms are 99% gone. My ear still hurts occasionally when it is windy or if I pull on it or just when it feels like aching. It's not a sharp pain and it only hurts as a level 1 or 2 pain and for just a short time. My taste is 95% restored. Some drinks still taste a little strange but nothing serious at all. I do occasionally get very tired and run down and at those times I just go to bed early and recover by the next day. Those nights that I only get 6 or 7 hours sleep begin to catch up with me and then it's time to get more sleep or risk feeling like I can't stay awake in the middle of the day. For those of you just reading these diaries for the first time - keep hopeful, rest, rest, rest then push yourself a little to get back to normal activities so that the dizziness and balance problems can be overcome as much as possible. Have as many people as possible praying for your recovery. I check in at least once a week to see who needs prayers and I will certainly pray for you as well. I am still hopeful that my balance will be restored at some point but even if it isn't I have a good life once again and can do nearly anything I need or want to do. I am very thankful for that. |
