The 26th is our Thanksgiving day. This usually is a family get-together time for us. For our 30th, we planned for everyone to come. So, the guests come and my wife has to handle that plus take care of me. I am a lucky man.

They eat, visit and play games. I sleep and eat very little.

My wife and I had earlier arranged a family photo. I was not going to let this problem keep us from recording the moment.

Follow-up with my GP. Additional diagnosis of conjunctivitis. Prescribed Bioxin (antibiotic) and Bleph10 (eye drops). He set up an appointment with an ENT (ear, nose, throat) doctor he recommended. Good choice, he is also a professor at the local medical school.

Visit as much as I can and rest.

The ENT gives me a thorough examination and orders an MRI, hearing test and several neurological tests. We did the hearing test right away. At least a 60% loss on the right side. His diagnosis is officially facial nerve disorder.

This was my first MRI, but luckily I am not claustrophobic. Actually had two since one was with an intravenous contrast agent. Came back to his office for the neurological tests – a balance test and brain stem (evoked potential?).
