Day 116 - Thursday 12th February 2004 |
I'm beginning to see a bit more movement when I smile. It started four days ago with the tiniest twitch at the corner of my mouth. It has now progressed to a bit of pulling movement in the cheek, almost to the cheekbone, and a little curling of the corner of the mouth. No real smile as yet, but I'm so much more hopeful now. My forehead over the affected eyebrow has also been sore to the touch in spots for a couple of months, but no movement there yet. Lets hope that's on it's way as well! |
Well, in the good news and bad news category, I've just become aware of the downside of having a moister eye! I'm still taping my eye at night at 17 weeks post onset, and occasionally I need to use drops or even gel during the day, but some days the eye is OK without them. I just realized today that the reason my vision blurs and tears spill over when I do a crossword puzzle is because I always do them over breakfast or lunch! In other words, I think I've developed synkinesis! This has been going on for a couple of weeks now. I guess I’m a little slow on the uptake! |

Day 118 - Saturday 14th February 2004 |
Had lunch with a friend in Newburyport this afternoon. We walked around a bit, since it was quite a bit warmer today and I’ve been feeling a lot less tired. The brick sidewalks were a real challenge! This wobbly walk of mine is getting to be a pain. I hope that starts to improve soon. |
