Day 652 - Monday 20th October 2003 |
Today I was feeling pretty good. I left for Austin around noon from work. Still no headaches or dizziness. I just get tired easily. When I arrived in Austin, I rested in my room for about an hour and then went out to eat with some co-workers. I even felt up to a drink at a club after dinner. |

Day 653 - Tuesday 21st October 2003 |
After a day of very boring meetings, we headed home again. I hate these one-night trips. They are much more tiring than staying a couple of days. Anyway, on the way home, I called my Neurologist to get the test results back. The nurse stated that the CT Scans and MRI were both negative for anything. She stated that my lungs and brain were in great shape. The blood test was not back yet, but should be in tomorrow. I got home and crashed in the bed for a good nights sleep. Well, that didn't happen. I am back to going to sleep only to wake up at 1:30am or so. I took a sleeping pill when I woke up, but it didn't faze me |

Day 654 - Wednesday 22nd October 2003 |
I worked until around 3pm today. The nurse from the Neurologist called and stated that the blood tests were all negative, as well. I felt like celebrating, except it left a big question mark still. I still don't know why I have had this happen 3 times in less than 2 years. That is so frustrating. The Neurologist is now referring me to a specialist in Dallas. Not sure what they are going to do, but he states that this guy is one of the leading authorities on facial paralysis. |
Except for being tired, I felt OK. A friend of mine's cat died this morning and I went over to help bury him. I was exhausted by the time we got him buried and my face was drooping again. |

Day 655 - Thursday 23rd October 2003 |
Same story with the sleep problems. Other than that, I felt OK and worked all day both days. My work involves supervising 3 Psychiatrists at our Mental Health Clinics. One of them is a close friend of mine. We talked for a long time on Friday. She stated that my face did not have the typical facial paralysis associated with Bells Palsy. Instead of drooping, it almost draws upward. My lip draws up and my face almost looks swollen on that side. That plus the fact that my cheek looks swollen is different. She is right about that, plus the fact that my eye is never affected. Anyway, I need to tell the specialist about this, since my face is basically back to normal now. The only thing I can tell is when I am tired, my smile is a little crooked and my cheek looks a tiny bit swollen. I do not know when the appointment will be yet. They are supposed to call me on Monday. |
