Day 125 - Friday 3rd November 2006 |
|
|
Well I called all week trying to get in to see my ENT earlier but I ended up having to wait until Friday anyway. My regular nurse practitioner called me because she got wind of the situation and wanted to check on me and she called in more Acyclovir for me. |
During the week I developed a nice little patch of new shingles behind my ear! YAY!!!! My ear gets real red a swollen and if anything rubs against it… woo! It is like electricity! |
So I saw a different ENT than I normally do because my regular one took a leave of absence. I really like this guy and I wish that I could continue seeing him. He is very kind and thorough. He was concerned about the new shingles and wanted to make sure that I had more acyclovir and was happy with the movement that I have been gaining in my face. He ordered an MRI just to make sure that there are no lesions or other bad things going on with my facial nerves. |
The nurse said that it usually takes about three working days for the MRI dept to call and set up the appointment so I probably won’t be hearing from them until next Wednesday or so. I am not looking forward to that! I am so claustrophobic that I have to shower with the curtain partially opened! The ENT gave me a prescription to take just before I go in for the MRI. I am excited that this guy at least seems to want to do some more testing. |
As for the shingles… there are none inside my ear and he thought that was a good thing. I really wish that I had been seeing him all along. Not that the other ENT is bad or that I dislike him… I just think that this new guy and I have more compatible personalities. |
I still have my cold and have developed a nasty chest cough and am sneezing my head off. My ear is really bothering me and I am a bit bummed out because this means that I cannot go back to work yet and I miss my job! But other than all of that I am feeling hopeful and upbeat. |
